Get To Know Leah of ATrN
Hi! I’m Leah, the wife half of All Things {re}NEWELL. Today I want to share a little bit about myself and how I got here (here, as in this blog) so we can get to know each other a little better.
I’ve been sharing parts of my life on social media platforms for a long time now. Twelve years ago it started with promoting my art and furniture transformations on Facebook. Then my weight loss journey on Facebook and Instagram. Which let to a weekly column in the local news paper. Who remembers {Nourish}?? Fun times! At the same time I started sharing local restaurants and businesses, fun new food products, outfits of the day, and beauty products that I love. All of this way before “influencing” was even a thing much less an actual career. I did it because I know I have great taste and want to share it with the world. *shrugs* What can I say?
And I really do enjoy the process! I like taking pretty pictures, making my feed look aesthetically pleasing, creating stories that pop from your screens, and putting thoughts into words that are concise and easy to understand. It’s just another creative outlet for me.
But lately I’ve been feeling a little bleh about social media. I can’t remember the last time I scrolled Facebook, much less posted anything. (With the exception of Facebook Marketplace. I LOVE FBMP. More on that here.) It’s like a bad news highlight reel and gives me legit anxiety. And I’m not even an anxious person! Instagram’s honestly not much better. Plus it’s like scrolling through endless influencer ad after ad these days.
As much as I love the reach of social media, I want something more. Or maybe, something less. Something smaller, cozier, a bit more intimate. A little place of my own to curate a collection of not only pretty things but thoughts and ideas too.
And so here we are! My own little corner of the great big World Wide Web. Welcome to All Things {re}NEWELL!
I’d love to get to know you too! Leave a comment and tell me where you’re from and how we know each other.
Thanks for reading,
Leah
